MAGIC OF MOROCCO COMING TO THE NATIONAL MALL IN WASHINGTON D.C.
Washington, DC. October 19, 2017. A major cultural event entitled: “Welcome to the Magic of Morocco”,
featuring the fabulous and rich heritage of Morocco to take place on the National Mall October 26-30.
The five-day event is billed as “A Celebration of Moroccan Culture”, with a special focus on the Sahara region in the south of the Kingdom, with historical information about all of Morocco as well as its contemporary development.
The location, near the Smithsonian Castle on the Mall, will be tented with 20 tents from Morocco to showcase traditional Moroccan craftsmanship and handicrafts in leather, metal, pottery, wood, glass, and textiles including exquisite caftans, handbags, and accessories as well as rugs and Moroccan decoration items. Women and men artisans will demonstrate their handiwork and also showcase the unique traditional clothing from the Sahara. Music and dance performances are also part of the program. Additionally, Key displays include a Desert Tent to highlight the artistry of the Sahara, henna painting. Another exciting musical attraction will be the performance of Gnaoua music, the star attraction in Morocco’s annual Gnaoua Festival in Essaouira.
The event is in partnership with the Embassy of the Kingdom of Morocco in Washington, DC, the Ministry of Tourism, Handicrafts and Social Economy’s, La ‘Maison de l’Artisan’ and other sponsors. This event is co-produced by Morocco Premier Events.
